Wackersberg’s tufa runnels and Dachshöhlen caves
The tufa runnels in Bad Tölz are natural gullies. They are formed when calcareous spring water slowly flows over mosses on level ground, and offer a great natural spectacle during a leisurely hike. The Dachshöhlen caves can also be explored during a hike, for example on the Heigelkogel-Dachhöhlen trail. This four- to five-hour hike leads you up to 1,218m, to the peak of Heigelkogel, our local mountain, as well as to the mystical Dachshöhle with a splashing waterfall. The 10.5km-long trail requires a certain level of fitness, endurance, and sure-footedness.
